Our inspirational runners made it! After an epic 262 miles, they finished at Nottingham castle on Saturday 13th October to a highly emotional homecoming. Met by family, friends and supporters the three runners - Dominic Towle, Tom Brown and Roger Harrison – arrived to loud cheers and rapturous applause from the crowds gathered and well-deserved medals were awarded to the runners and support crew.

The three had set off from Edinburgh Castle on 9th October to begin their epic challenge of running the equivalent of 2 marathons each day over 5 days. On Day 5 they ran from Barnsley to Nottingham – around 47 miles.

Roger said “There were times I really doubted I’d see it through to the end, but with the help of our supporters, we made it happen!”

Why did they take on this challenge?

To help improve the lives of stroke survivors and their families. The Ossie Newell Foundation is dedicated to providing funding to support one PhD student per annum at the University of Nottingham with the aim of raising the level of research in the area of rehabilitation after stroke.

Now they’ve done all the hard work, it’s time to make a donation visit:
