The film “The Stroke Pathway Journey” presented on this video was initially intended simply to represent the popular presentation given to 150 commissioners at an NHS Improvements event held in London called “What Commissioners need to know about Stroke” given by the Ossie Newell the President of @astroke, which developed into this film made over sessions of almost 4 days. The end result is an excellent and very professional film, produced by the filmmaker Gas Street Works of Birmingham and funded by the East Midlands Cardiac and Stroke Network and @astroke.
The film was the brain child of Ossie Newell a stroke conqueror and Patient Ambassador for Stroke, for the Nottinghamshire & East Midlands Projects and his organisation @astroke. The film lasts for 15 minutes and tells a wonderful story that illustrates a pathway, through which people who suffer stroke, travel.
Although this is based around Stroke Services delivered in Nottingham and was made some time ago what is represented in the film still applies to a very large extent, to anyone suffering a stroke, in any location, therefore has universal appeal to people involved in all manner of ways around the stroke experience and clearly demonstrates the value of evidence based research and its importance to service provision.
The showings of the video have been very well received and highly praised by a wide variety of audiences.
